Finally experience more time for deep healing
EMDR Intensives for High-Functioning Women in Boston
Focused EMDR & IFS Sessions for Lasting Change
Is weekly therapy just not cutting it anymore?
Do you feel like you run out of time in normal sessions, just as you’re getting to the real stuff?
You feel stuck, not making the progress you would like in normal 50-minute sessions
These sessions can feel too short, especially when doing trauma work. You might get into something important by the end of your session, only to wrap up and start again the following week.
You’re ready for deeper healing and change
You know what you’re struggling with, you’ve identified your goals, and want lasting change. Weekly therapy might feel tedious and drawn out, especially when you feel prepared to do deeper work now.

Here’s why intensives are such a powerful tool for deep healing:
They are customized, and provide the space to move through more in 8-hours, than months of weekly therapy.
What is an intensive?
Longer sessions
They are longer therapy sessions that provide more space for deep work
8+ Hours
Instead of weekly 50 minute sessions, you dedicate 8+ hours for concentrated work
Accelerated Healing
You can work through goals more quickly, because it’s not spread across several weeks or months.
The Intensive Format
-
1
INTAKE SESSION
A 90-minute session focused on creating a roadmap for our work, establishing goals, and addressing fears & concerns.
We will identify past experiences, internal patterns, and negative beliefs that are impacting you.
-
2
INTENSIVE SESSIONS
These are 4 hour therapy blocks scheduled for 2 consecutive days on a Thursday & Friday (8 hours total).
This is where the deeper work happens. It will take place virtually, so you can cozy-up at home & take breaks whenever you need to.
-
3
INTEGRATION SESSION
A 90-minute follow-up session to integrate your insights, strengthen new beliefs & make a plan for next-steps.
You might need more sessions to address your goals, take a pause, or just enjoy the changes made.
Trauma-focused intensives can help with:
High functioning anxiety
People-pleasing
Difficulty setting boundaries
A recent traumatic event
Dealing with an emotionally immature parent
Feeling “not good enough”
Painful childhood experiences
Self-criticism
Why do an intensive instead of weekly therapy?
More Time
You want more time to really get to the root of what’s going on
You’re ready
You feel motivated & ready to go deeper for more change
You feel stuck
You’re tired of feeling stuck in weekly therapy, not making the progress you want
prepare for an event
You want to prepare for an upcoming event (a birth, move, or procedure)
Dealing with a difficult person
You have a difficult person in your life (likely a parent) that negatively impacts you
a busy schedule
You don’t have the time or capacity to commit to weekly sessions & need flexibility
The Intensive experience includes:
An intake session: a 90-minute session dedicated to creating a roadmap for our work together, identifying your goals & addressing any concerns or fears about the intensive.
1
A personalized digital workbook: It includes assessments and tools to prepare you for the experience. It also provides space for you to reflect on the process, and identify any concerns before getting started.
2
A customized treatment plan: together we’ll identify the patterns & negative beliefs you want to shift, decide what to focus on, and how to best use our time during the intensive.
3
An integration session: a 90-minute session focused on reflection, strengthening new positive beliefs, integrating shifts/changes & creating a plan for next steps.

A single 4-hour session: every 4-6 weeks
Instead of dragging the process out for weekly, 50-minute sessions - you can do a 4-hour intensive block on a regular basis to better reach your goals.
This is a great option for deeper work that requires more time to address.
It's also more efficient and cost-effective to do depth-focused work.
Total investment: $1,000/intensive session
*Once you’ve reached your goals, we will schedule a 90-minute wrap-up session to integrate your work & review any next steps that might be beneficial.
imagine finally getting to:
Resolve the wounds you’ve been talking about for years
You’re probably aware of how these wounds affect you, but it can feel daunting to know what to do about them. Intensives provide a supportive space to work through them safely.
Overcome negative beliefs about yourself
Feel more compassionate towards yourself and the strategies you use to deal with hard things. By doing deep inner work, you can start to see yourself through a new lens.
Experience change more quickly
Instead of spreading out your healing across several months or years, you can work through your goals in a matter of days to feel relief.
An intensive may be a good fit for you if…
You have specific goals for therapy and feel ready to do deep work
You’re looking for the most efficient and cost effective way to address your goals, and move forward
You’d like more time to go deeper without feeling rushed and overwhelmed
You feel like you run out of time during regular sessions, and want uninterrupted time to really work through your goals
You’re busy and don’t have time for weekly therapy, or you don’t want to be on a waitlist for months

Common questions about intensives
-
If you're not sure if an intensive is right for after reading this page, please reach out here to schedule a free 20-minute consultation.
We can go over any questions you might have, review your goals, and determine if an intensive would meet your needs.
-
Intensives are a premium service that require more effort, energy, and scheduling flexibility to offer them.
The investment reflects not only this, but the value they provide for deep, uninterrupted work.
1- The Full Intensive Package: 11 clinical therapy hours + administration work
Investment = $2,800
2- Ongoing Monthly Intensives: 4-hour sessions scheduled every 4-6 weeks
Investment = $1,000/session

You can pay with a debit, credit, or HSA/FSA card.
Since intensives are such a large block of time, they require a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve the space in my calendar.
The remaining 50% is due on day 1 of your intensive.
If you have to have to reschedule your intensive, the 50% deposit can go towards your new intensive date.

Many clients feel like they run out of time during 50-minute sessions, which can feel like starting over each week. They want to actually work through something deep, without feeling rushed.
Deep work in therapy is where the most change comes from. It's having new experiences, connections, and processing. It requires more time and space to work through difficult things.
Clients have reported more change in a single intensive, than months of weekly therapy.

I’m an out-of-network provider and don’t bill insurance directly.
Some insurance plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network providers, but it’s typically for single, hour-long sessions. I recommend calling the number on your insurance card and asking about your out-of-network benefits.
I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance in the event that they cover partial cost of one hour-long session.

In standard 50-minute therapy sessions, there are 15+ minutes of checking-in, and 5-10 minutes spent wrapping-up at the end of a session. This leaves only 25-30 minutes for EMDR or parts work.
So in a month of weekly sessions, you’re getting 120 minutes of deep work
Therapy Intensives are different. A single 4-hour session allows for over 3 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of more than six 50-minute sessions in a single day.
The more deep work you do, the more quickly you see change. Quicker change means less time in therapy, and less money spent.
